Tarsus On Demand has been awarded VMware Cloud Verified status by VMware, a global leader in cloud infrastructure & digital workspace technology.

This makes Tarsus On Demand, the cloud division within the Tarsus Technology Group, one of only four South African partners to have this status.

Cloud Verified

“Tarsus On Demand have, through their efforts to attain their VMware Cloud Verified badge, proved that the services they deliver will offer their partners the efficiency, agility, and reliability inherent in cloud computing,” says Dave Funnell, Cloud Provider Manager at VMware sub-Saharan Africa.

“We look forward to providing the company ongoing support as it empowers organisations with a simple and flexible path to the cloud.”

Eight Years

Tarsus On Demand has an eight-year history with VMware, and currently offers every product within VMware’s Cloud Infrastructure and VMware Cloud Services portfolios to its resellers, cloud service providers, and partners.

Cloud Verified status extends that further, with access to the full set of VMware Cloud Infrastructure capabilities, This includes integration, interoperability, cost optimisation, and flexibility.

Delighted

“We are delighted to be one of four partners in Southern Africa to be VMware Cloud Verified. This badge not only speaks to the fact that VMware trusts us to deliver on its cloud services, but also offers our customers the peace of mind they require when ensuring cloud portability between their environment and a trusted VMware infrastructure,” says Brendan Haskins, chief technology officer, Tarsus On Demand.

The COVID-19 pandemic has changed the world dramatically in just four months. Not surprisingly, Tarsus On Demand has seen a major uptick in demand for cloud services as businesses have sought ways to keep their doors open and their staff working.

Organisations are moving their infrastructure to the cloud where it makes sense and supporting an increasingly remote workforce through various business-critical services that are hosted in the cloud.

The shift to opex

This change heralds a shift for business IT from a capital expenditure mindset to one of operational expenditure, says Haskins. IT has increasingly been seen as an operational expense, but the pandemic and the accompanying behaviour shifts are simply driving the point home.
