ASUS has brought out a new portable monitor; it’s called the ZenScreen, and it’s not your average portable display. The screen is now available from Tarsus Distribution.
The designers made it a 15.6-inch, Full HD, IPS display screen that can connect to any device with a USB Type-C port. It serves as a secondary screen for PCs, and is very useful for presentations, meetings, and any other gathering where more screen space comes in handy.
And looks-wise, ASUS designed it with the usual attention to detail the company gives any of its products prefixed by “Zen”.
In other words, this portable screen is gorgeous:
It was also clearly designed to be moved around: the ZenScreen weighs just 780g and is 8mm thin, and comes with a smart cover that folds into a stand that supports the screen in either portrait or landscape positions.
This means you can set it up anywhere you have space, in the orientation that suits your usage, quickly and conveniently. Just a note, the ZenScreen only senses orientation and adjusts when connected to a Windows device.
Of course, the beauty of the ZenScreen is more than just physical: it uses that one USB connection to draw power and data from the source device.
ASUS says this is due to a “hybrid signal solution” that carries both video data and power over the USB connection. Using it is as easy as plugging in one single cable, and boom, it’s on and working. Such an elegant design.
Since not every device has a USB Type-C port just yet, ASUS added support for USB Type-A connections by including a converter.
This is a beautiful, useful, and elegantly-designed portable screen that will serve highly mobile people very well, and it’s now available from Tarsus Distribution.
